Please find two documents above containing some literacy activities for the week. The first few activities continue with the Blue Penguin, find the whole story here.
The second document contains activities based around the story Jack Frost, find the lovely, wintery story here.
Please do not feel that your child has to work their way through all of these activities, you can pick and choose activities throughout the week.
I have also recorded two other penguin stories, click the links below to access them.
I spoke to lots of you about number formation last week, please find number formation video links below.
You might like to have a go at the activities below to practise forming numbers correctly. You could also practise writing numbers on paper, in a book or on a whiteboard or chalk board.
It may also be helpful to practise forming numbers with paint and a paintbrush or using a finger to write numbers in sand. You could also try creating the shape of numbers using playdough or other objects (such as small blocks or bricks). All of these activities will help your child with recognising and forming the shape of numbers.
One more and one less
I know that lots of you practised finding one more and one less last week. Please find the videos below to help practise finding one more and one less using both counting objects and/or number lines.
You might like to have a go at the activities below looking at finding one more and one less than a number.
Now that lots of us have had a go at adding one more to a number, lets have a go at adding other numbers too.
I've added a video looking at adding two numbers together using counting objects. Click here to view the video.
You could have a go at adding two numbers together (for example 6+3 or 8+6). You could use objects from around your home for you to count as you find the answer. Someone in your family could give you two numbers to add together OR you could pick two number cards and then add the two numbers together (maybe you pick the cards 5 and 2, add these two numbers together to find the answer).
This week's phonics is focussed on the long oo sound, as in 'moon'. Have a go at the Monster Phonics activities in the phonics plan below to learn and practise this sound. I will add a video later in the week to help practise the 'oo' sound and link it here.

I spoke to lots of you about letter formation last week, practising writing letters with pens/pencil and paper or on a whiteboard or chalkboard is a great thing to do. Like number formation, you could also practise painting the letters or drawing them in sand or soap.
You might like to have a go at some of these letter formation sheets for practise.
Have a go at the PE activities that Mrs Dinkele sent out via email.
This week we are going to learn a rhyme about Teddy Bears. You will need a Teddy or a different animal toy to join in the activity.
