On Wednesday the children from years 3 and 4 were visited by the author Jane Howard. She ran a workshop on how to plan and write your own story. She began with a "washing line" to illustrate the progress of a story - the establishing of the characters, several "knots" in the progress of the plot, and various ups and downs along the way. After her talk, the children took on their pens and literacy books and started planning and writing their own stories. An inspiring afternoon had by all. Thank you very much to our librarian, Mrs Wakefield, for organising the visit.
