Well done to all the children in Class 1 for a delightful assembly. In a very confident manner, the children shared with the whole school and their parents, how much fun they've had and the amazing work they've been doing during this term.
A wet spring detective walk!
On Wednesday morning the Reception children got into their woodland trousers, their waterproofs and wellies ready to walk around the school grounds to find signs of spring. As soon as we stepped out of the door the drizzle became quite heavy rain! Undeterred the children and staff battled on but took respite in the outdoor classroom for a few minutes where we listened to the birds singing, the rain dripping (and pouring from the gutter!) and watched a blackbird finding worms to eat.
From there we checked the classroom flower bed and found bulbs and primroses growing. Next it was to the orchard area where we found daisies, daffodils, buds on trees and a beautiful tree in blossom.
Finally we went to the woodland where we went exploring with magnifying glasses. We decided that the giant ladybird needed a name so we have called her “Lily Ladybird”.
It might have been a wet learning experience but we had an exciting time and made lots of discoveries! Spring really is on it’s way!
Visitors in class 1
Mr King and Mrs Collins have been visiting all the classes this week. Unfortunately when Mr King visited Class 1 he was arrested for being drunk and not paying his bill in the Class 1 café!.
This week the children in class 1 had the chance to experience the friendship dance. After Watching Mowgli and Baloo -from The Jungle Book- dancing to the Bear Necesities, they were able to come up with their own dance routine based on some of Baloo's moves. We saw lots of jiggles and wiggles and lots of good team work , bringing to life the true meaning of friendship.
Buddy Book Share
The reception children paid a visit to Class 5 this week to share the books that the Class 5 children have been writing for their buddies. The children read the books together and the Class 1 children were given a copy of their own book!.
