Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. Welcome to Wherwell Primary School.

As Headteacher at Wherwell, I am privileged to be part of a school that always puts children first. All staff here are committed to creating an environment that is positive and encourages every child to thrive emotionally, physically and academically. We are very proud of the fact that the experiences and opportunities that are on offer to all children at Wherwell School are incredible and without doubt, what makes this school a unique and very special place to learn.

Our vision is that our school will enable all children to move on, after many happy years here, having had: a great time; making friendships and memories; taking up a wide range of opportunities and experiences, and having been helped to prepare and set them up for the rest of their lives.

At Wherwell, we are strongly committed to helping our children grow and develop the skills that they will need to be successful in life. We take great pride in the broad and exciting curriculum we offer our children and the range of support they receive in order to thrive. As important as the core academic skills our children learn, is our desire to ensure everyone is happy within school and that they feel safe and confident to take on the challenges they will face as they grow older. Resilience, aspiration as well as the willingness and ability to take risks, believe in oneself and learn from mistakes are qualities that we believe are essential, and we commit a lot of time and effort into helping our children and staff be the best versions of themselves.

Rest assured, I will work tirelessly to ensure the school continues to flourish and maintain its welcoming family feel for the children. I have a strong belief that a child’s time at a primary school should be about having rich and varied experiences in all areas of the curriculum, in a setting where everyone feels valued, safe and secure, so that they have the confidence to try something new and develop a love of learning. Happy children make the best learners.

With warmest wishes
